Dallas Brodie was elected in October 2024 to represent the
Vancouver-Quilchena riding in our provincial government.
Since then, she has:
-
Been
kicked out of the BC Conservative Party
for mocking residential school survivors
- Formed a new political party, OneBC, with MLA Tara Armstrong of Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream (OneBC receives additional funding of over $200,000 due to its status as an official party in BC, and $442,000 for Brodie’s office as leader)
- Appeared to use taxpayer funds to produce and promote a "documentary" titled Making a Killing: Reconciliation, Genocide, and Plunder in Canada, which contributes to residential school denialism
- Attempted to pass a bill
prohibiting land acknowledgments in schools
- Tabled a bill to remove Truth and Reconciliation Day
because “The idea that we need to reconcile presumes an act of wrongdoing and regret” and claimed that there was no wrongdoing perpetrated against Indigenous people during the settlement of Canada.
- Posted a photo of herself with a sign that says "Zero Bodies"
in front of an Every Child Matters sign, denying the deaths of children at Canada’s residential schools
-
Suggested that First Nations politicians like Á'a:líya Warbus
(Chiliwack-Cultus Lake MLA and member of the Sto:lo Nation) have
no place in the BC Conservative Party, saying she
belongs in the NDP
-
Called First Nations “an elite racial minority”
-
Tweeted
her support
for a nurse who was fired from Vancouver Coastal Health for
making
discriminatory and derogatory comments about transgender
patients
-
Said no woman would use a
gender neutral bathroom
-
Claimed a growing number of British Columbians
want the province to separate from Canada
-
Called Indigenous rights
a threat to Canadian sovereignty
-
Insisted on calling Haida Gwaii by
a name that has not been used in over a decade
-
Demanded that BC
“defund” the First Nations Leadership Council
- Said raising a transgender flag on the National Transgender Day of Remembrance is a “denigration of our history”
- Introduced a bill to ban diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
in public institutions, claiming “Men, Whites, Asians and Jews” are being discriminated against
Brodie has also:
-
Donated money to the far-right
People’s Party of Canada
-
Responded to a question about First Nations rights by saying
that if Indigenous people want equal rights and treatment in
Canada, they should “come and take responsibility” for the unhoused Indigenous people in the Downtown Eastside.
